Patu RH Series Harvesting Heads


Patu RH Series harvester heads can also be installed on a farm tractor. A crane with a reach of over 20 ft can be used with a 90 hp tractor. Illustrated are the Patu 405 RH head and a Foresteri 400-1H crane on a 100 hp four wheel drive farm tractor. The pump unit for the harvester head is mounted on the three point hitch.

    Here the 405 RH takes a firm grip on the tree. The pressure accumulator keeps the rollers squeezed. The maximum felling diameter is 17 3/4". The saw limiter prevents the cutter bar from going past the stem and getting stuck.

    Tractor mounted grapple loader



    The radial piston motors of the feed rollers have a very high starting torque. Not even heavy limbs at the beginning of the delimbing stop the feeding. The rear knife cuts off the limbs of the butt end when the head is being placed on the tree.

    Patu timber harvesting head



    The Patu 505 RH is a harvester head for both thinnings and clear cuts. It can be mounted on prime movers from about 10 metric tons weight. Thanks to the geometry of the feed rollers the head holds the stem firmly.

    Tractor mounted grapple loader



    The Patu heads have a very quiet chain saw. The Patu 405 RH has a 10 cc saw motor whereas the motor on the Patu 505 RH is 19 cc.
